Guild Insanity (Main guild): 1x slots available for recruitment.
(Note: Some inactive members who haven't been online for a long time have been removed to make way for new members.)

Guild Ytinasni (Alliance guild): Another 10 slots will be added this coming week to be available for recruitment.

Boss Balrog
The infallible Balrog, who was sealed up in the Underground Temple at Sleepywood by Tristan a decades ago, has been slowly preparing to be resurrected. Mu Young was emphatic in his request that YOU must prevent Balrog, who’s standing past the sealed-up door, from fully resurrected, and that YOU must be prepared to face him. Balrog should not be underestimated! Form up your Squad with a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 30 players to go against him!

Monster Carnival Season 2
Players between level 59 ~ level 69 take note! Monster Carnival Season 2 is out! With more powerful Monsters, battle out with your friends and stand a chance to win yourself with fabulous equipments! Form up a party of 2 to 6 players and talk to Spiegelmann located in various towns to participate in the Monster Carnival Season 2 NOW!

Creation of New Knight of Cygnus Character
Knights of Cygnus can now be created without the restriction of a level 20 character! You may now choose to create Knight of Cygnus Character or Adventurers from the Character Creation Page!

Window Mode
Window mode is now implemented for your convenience! You may now choose to play MapleSEA in Window Mode! Simply make your selection under System Option!

Monster Box
Treasure Box will now drop from monsters in MapleSEA! Stand a chance to get RARE items like Reverse Weapons and Timeless Weapons from these Boxes! There will be 2 types of Boxes!

Hi Guys, it's been a while since I posted here so I would like to do a summary of some of the things that happened in the guild.

1. Launch of KOC
Yeah... Since KOC launched, many members have already started a new char with cool new skills!

2. First lvl 120 KOC in Guild
Special grats to Xiiaobotakie for getting to lvl 120, and becoming Captain-class Soul Master. You Rox!

MapleStory Priest Guide v1.10 (Updated)

Being a Priest is so much fun and so much easy to train. If you love leeching, join a party of attackers. If you love soloing, just heal undead monsters all the way. Or, if you like the best of both worlds, go ahead and have lots of fun.


The Priest
Advantages: The Priest is a party favourite, has lots of supportive skills to aid him/herself as well as the party and shines the most when he/she advances to a Bishop.

Disadvantages: The Priest is described as a leecher by many.


Skills of the Priest

Elemental Resistance

This passive skill when maxed enables additional magic defence of up to 50% against elemental

attacks be they fire, poison, ice, lightning or dark magic.

Should this skill be maxed? Definitely yes.

Dispel

This supportive skill when maxed has a 100% success rate of dispelling status effects such as Curse, Seal, Poison, Weaken, Weapon Defence Up and Magic Defence Up casted by monsters or bosses.

However, this skill has its limitations. It is unable to dispel Super Weapon Defence Up, Super Magic Defence Up, Zombify, Seduce, Confusion, Weapon Attack Reflection and Magic Attack Reflection.

Should this skill be maxed? Definitely yes.

Mystic Door

This supportive skill opens a "door" where you and your party members can use it to return to the nearest town and come back to your current place again and again until the skill wears off.

Note: This skill cannot be used at boss maps, event maps and mini dungeons.

Should this skill be maxed? Not necessarily so.

Holy Symbol

This is the most favourite skill of the Priest both for him/herself and his/her party. When maxed, the party (with a minimum of 2 members) gains an additional 50% experience. If this skill is used for the Priest alone, he/she gains an additional 10% experience.

Note: This skill does not apply to quest experience rewards.

Should this skill be maxed? Definitely yes.

Shining Ray

This offensive skill enables the Priest to finally be able to attack several monsters (up to a maximum of 6) be they undead or non-undead as compared to Heal. It does an additional 50% damage on holy weak monsters but does relatively low damage on normal monsters.

Should this skill be maxed? Yes.

Summon Dragon

This offensive skill summons a small dragon that attacks any random monster once every few seconds. This dragon does neutral damage instead of holy damage. Each cast will require 1 summoning rock.

Note: This skill should be capped at level 15 to meet the requirement for Bahamut when the Priest has advanced on to a Bishop.

Should this skill be maxed? Definitely no.

Doom

This supportive/offensive skill when maxed has a 90% chance of turning 6 monsters into blue snails for a limited amount of time. The damage dealt by these snails is 10% of their original damage.

Each cast will use up a magic rock.

Should this skill be maxed? Definitely no.

It is still a game after all.

As i was training one of my noobs. (My level 38 archer, anyone wants to help me please feel free to tell me. I will gladly accept. Hee)

I saw a very nice mega. A classic example of a very happy and joyous mapler who just enjoys playing maple. I decided to pm him/her to jiayou too. Not expecting a reply as I'm sure he would be flooded with private messages or BL or GL chat. But as you can see from the screenshot, he did reply me, which I think is really sweet.


I hope we can all follow his example. We all love playing maplestory.
Yes there will always be people out there to get on our badside. But always remember the reason we started playing maplestory in the first place. For most I hope its to relax, have fun and make new friends. Competition is always there in every game. Take it with a pinch of salt but do not get obsessed with it. This way I hope we can do our part to make the game we love playing an enjoyable one.

Let us all wish all Maplers in Maplestory a good and fruitfull day in Maple!

1.1: Elin Forest
To access Elin Forest, make your way to Ludibrium's Helios Tower. At the 100th floor, climb the stairs all the way till you enter a portal at the top. Once your inside the Time Control Room, climb up the small stairs to the machine and press up at the portal to be transported to Elin Forest.

1.2: Time Temple
To access Time Temple, make your way to Leafre's Cabin map (where the ship arrives every 15 minutes), climb all the way to the top till you see the Dragon Trainer. Double click on him and you will be transformed into a dragon.

To fly, press Jump to do so.
To move, press either < > or the down arrow.

Once you are a dragon, keep flying all the way to the extreme right and you will be taken to a second map. Keep on flying till you see the Time Temple landing place, press up on the portal to be transformed back into yourself again and you will enter the Time Temple.

Do the reverse to return to Leafre.
Tip by Pearl jie: Just move your dragon down to the clouds to return to Leafre immediately from Time Temple.

1.3: Ellinia - Sleepywood Access
Ellinia now has a direct route to Sleepywood. Proceed to The Tree That Grew IV, enter the portal at the top of the map and you will be taken to the next map. Move to the edge and jump off the platform to "fall" into Sleepywood.

2.1: Maple Chair
Maple Chair is the latest addition to the MapleStory chair series and it looks very good. How do you get it?

Collect sunshines from any monster and donate them to the NPC named Gaga inside the Maple Tree Hill map (accessed by talking to Gaga at all towns).

Double click on Gaga inside the map to check the growth of the Maple Tree and you will see the progress bar. If the Maple Tree is to fully grow, everyone needs to donate 1500 x 10 sunshines to Gaga (regardless of which channel you are in). Once the progress bar (or 1500 x 10 sunshines has been donated) is filled up, the Maple Tree will "explode" in every channel into golden and red maple leaves.

Loot just one golden maple leaf, talk to Gaga inside the map and you will get the Maple Chair.

(Note: Maple Chair is untradeable and has no expiry date.)

2.2: Maple Cape
Wow, Maple Cape! Cool.

How do we get this wonderful cape? Simple, this quest has 3 parts meaning each part upgrades your Maple Cape to add more stats.

1st part:
a.) Talk to Cassandra to start the quest. *Corrected by Pearl jie, thanks!*
b.) Find Dr Winston at the Perion area.
c.) Talk to Dr Winston.
d.) Find Arwen at Ellinia.
e.) Talk to Arwen and donate Snow Silks + Maple Leaves
f.) Find Francois at Ellinia.
g.) Talk to Francois and donate the Snow Silk Piece + Maple Leaves to get the first Maple Cape.

2nd part:
a.) Talk to Francois again "to repair your Maple Cape".
b.) Travel to Orbis to talk to Lisa.
c.) Donate Snow Silks + Maple Leaves to upgrade your Maple Cape.

3rd part:
a.) Talk to Lisa again.
b.) Travel to El Nath to find and talk to Alcaster.
c.) Donate Snow Silks + Maple Leaves to get your last upgrade for your Maple Cape.

2.3: Maple Leaf Equipment
How to obtain your Maple Leaf Equipment?
a.) Talk to Cassandra to start the quest for Maple Leaf Equipment.
b.) Donate Maple Leaves to exchange for the Maple Leaf Equipment.
c.) Double click on the Maple Leaf equipment to equip it.

How to upgrade your Maple Leaf Equipment?
a.) Talk to Cassandra to activate the Maple Syrup quest.
b.) Donate maple leaves to exchange for a maple syrup.
c.) Double click on the maple syrup to "upgrade" your Maple Leaf equipment.
Warning: The Maple Syrup has a 50/50 chance to either upgrade or downgrade your Maple Leaf Equipment.
Note: The Maple Leaf Equipment has an expiry date and the quest to obtain it is repeatable.
Note: The Maple Syrup Quest is repeatable.

Ok, was surfing around the Internet, looking for interesting stuff about maple... and just happened to read on playpark about how sites are "honoring" the Konami code by delibrately putting easter eggs on them, unlockable by pressing Konami code!

For the younger generation, the code is a cheat code entered into Contra (a Nintendo NES game) during the loading screen, so that you can have 30 lives instead of 3 miserable lives!

The code goes like this:

Some sites with this easter egg, that still works, are Facebook and Google Reader.

An Alternative Cleric/Priest Guide Part 1: The Cleric

Hi fellow Insanitiers! Once again, here's another MapleSEA guide by me, this time its an updated guide on the Cleric/Priest which was previously posted on my blog over at Absolutely Daniel Yoleh.

Well, lets first start off with the Cleric for this guide, yes the most popular party member of all times (Ok, I'm biased)!

Skills Available To The Cleric:
Bless, Heal, Invincible, MP Eater, Teleport and Holy Arrow

Bless enables additional weapon defence, magic defence, accuracy, avoidability of 20 to either the Cleric himself or the whole party when maxed. This skill is an important party skill as warriors depend on it for additional accuracy when they are low dex builds, for the Cleric himself, the additional avoidability helps by letting the Cleric avoid attacks or touch damage dealt by monsters once every now and then.

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? Yes.

Heal does what it says, recover the HP of both the Cleric and all party members within its range. Heal also deals damage to undead monsters, but note, when any party member/s is/are in range, the damage dealt on monsters will be reduced significantly (the number of undead monsters being dealt damage will reduce proportionately too) as the party member/s has a priority in being healed.

How does it work?
(Legend: ">" denotes heal)

Healer > 5 Undead Monsters (100% Damage on all 5 Undead Monsters and full recovery on the Cleric)

Healer > 1 Party Member > 4 Undead Monsters (Reduced damage and only applies to 4 monsters, full recovery on both the Cleric and party member)

Healer > 2 Party Members > 3 Undead Monsters (Reduced damage and only applies to 3 monsters, full recovery on the Cleric and 2 party members)

Healer > 3 Party Members > 2 Undead Monsters (Reduced damage and only applies to 2 monsters, full recovery on the Cleric and 3 party members)

Healer > 4 Party Members >1 Undead Monster (Reduced damage and only applies to 1 monster, full recovery on the Cleric and 4 party members)

Healer > 5 Party Members (No monsters get healed, full recovery for the whole party)

The amount of HP healed depends solely on skill level and a bit of the Cleric's HP.
The amount of damage dealt depends on both skill level, intelligence and magic attack.

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? Yes.

Invincible reduces weapon damage (it has no effect on neutral/magic damage) dealt by monsters on the Cleric (example being the Yeti's groundslam, touch damage dealt by monsters, etc) by 30% when maxed. This is an extremely essential skill for the Cleric as it helps reduce pot consumption by a significant amount.

Take note that this skill only works for the Cleric himself and not the party!

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? Yes.

MP Eater is very useful during your entire Cleric and Priest journey, but, when you advance on to a Bishop, it is no longer useful because your core skill - Genesis consumes insane amounts of MP per cast.

Mp Eater has a set % success of "stealing" MP from a monster until the monster has no more MP. Even when you are healing a group of monsters, MP will only be "stolen" from any 1 monster until it has no more MP, then the next monster will be the target.

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? Yes.

Teleport is a very useful skill, it lets you move across maps quicker though at the cost of MP. When this skill is maxed, you use less MP per cast and travel a greater distance.

Teleport also lets the Cleric avoid some magic attacks cast by monsters/boss by tele-ing away from the attack.

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? Yes (Very very useful for GPQs too).


Holy Arrow is the Cleric's secondary form of attack against monsters be they undead/neutral. It does significantly low damage even at high levels and will be replaced by Angel Ray when you advance on to a Bishop which does higher damage and knockback on monsters.

Conclusion: Should this skill be maxed? No.

The guild killed a Scarlion yesterday. We were able to do it with special thanks to Owlstarr!
Thanks to Nickshadow also for appearing out of nowhere when we needed a DK!
Thanks to all those who were there! Thanks to the Scarlion for giving us 4 helms!

Anyway, the PT line up was as such:

The milestone was as such:
B1 down - 12th minute
b2 down - 28th minute
b3 down - 46th minute

Important Lessons learnt when fighting Scarlion:

1. Have a good rest the night before as fighting bosses might put you to sleep
2. Try to have 2 DKs, in case of DCs
3. Try to have more than 1 rusher, in case of DCs
4. Try to have a haster for the rusher, as there are times then the rusher is behind the scarlion after a unsuccessful rush and needs to walk back to the front to rush again
   
5. Try to have 2BSs that can ress (in case 1 BS dies)
   
6. Beware of Confusion (Status cast by scarlion that causes you to walk in the opposite direction you intend to)
7. If you are a melee attacker, watch out for the BS, if the BS flies to the other side of the map after being slapped by the Scarlion, you will need to self pot!
8. If you do not have at least 8k hp, please avoid touching the Scarlion body during B3. Mages/BS recommended to on MG at all times.
   
9. To down the scarlion faster, you need to:

• Bring more ciders (have mages or mules carry them if you need to)
  
• Have more PROs in the PT
• Have XBMs or BMs with a good SE lvl in the main attacking PT
• Try not to die
• Try not to go toilet halfway while bossing

For those who want to try MY Bossing, hope what I had written helps, and good luck!

But when I clicked on it, it just brought me to the usual maplesea website (http://maple.asiasoftsea.net/index.aspx) without any mention of MapleStory Episode 2!...

What a let down...

Yet another Urgent Server Check

I had problems logging on to MapleStory to move my char to get ready for tonight's Guild MY BOSS. After a few tries, I decided to check up MapleSea's website. True enough, this is what I learned:

Dear Maplers,

Please be informed that there will be an urgent server check for ALL Worlds. The expected downtime will be from 1200hrs to 1230hrs (+8GMT). Game Service will not be available for this period of time. (Now is already 3 pm le leh!)

This urgent server check is to carry out extension of Cash items validity period. Users who possessed Cash items that will expire after 0230hrs on 15th April 2009 will be extended for another 1 day.

ZAKUM PREQUEST!

Hey All!! Just sharing an experience and i like typing stories. So bare with me. HEH!

Yesternight. Pea, Fresh, Story, Wonder(Peasao) and Me went to tackle once again the ZAKUM PREQUEST(use a very low scary tone voice). It was a first for Story and I hope we made the excruciating experience a memorable one. =/

First stage as usually went okay, with me losing my paper and Fresh not knowing where his one year ago paper went. So it was up to Pea and Peasao to guide us. Almost died because of that dumb mobs that appear out of the boxes.

YAY FOR SECOND STAGE. This being my second time i was not excited. Cause the first time took almost the whole of a saturday afternoon till Pea made Peasao jump for him, and i got hungry and NuahNuah felt like crying. HAHA This time, i dced, i lagged and died, had to do stage one again. Felt like shit, thought maybe i should do it another day cause i still lagged. But guessed what. I finish first~ (Does a chant) I would like to thank WonderMahou for being there for me. Supporting me. Being just the best Bishop in maple. HAHA okay i was serious.

So Pea, Peasao and I finished that stage. Fresh and Story were having loads of problems. Since Fresh has never done it by Himself(lol). I think Story did really well! At that situation and circumstance i would have given up. Having everyone gone to stage 2 of the jump quest, alone and falling. I would have felt stressed and given up. Though he said so too, he didnt give up!
But yea in the end Peasao and I jumped for them. =/

Well that was that. And we all have finished our Zak Prequest. YAY FOR US!

TODAY. Just wanted to upload the mega's BabySharen mega-ed.

Such sweet mega-s. And look at the couple. AWWW!!! So cute la. :D Thanks Sharen and I'm sure whole of insanity thanks you.

But as usually there were some spoiled beans that said ' Your mega made me lag' and decided to defame sharen. She got defamed 4 times. And BOTAK is scary who has 21 characters, went to fame Sharen back. =/ Thats really scary. So thank you Botak for taking care of Sharen.

Oh and might I add.

NARUTO! Why is Grandal the Great the biggest! NO FAIR? Just Cause there's endless amounts of mages does not mean his head has to be the biggest. Sorry about my flying penguin. I had to jump down from bigger ben to get a nice shot. :)

New Leaf City!

Basically i think i'll just be updating on the stuff that's going on around maple.

OKAY! SO for maplesea's latest patch, A NEW MAP was born!

NEW LEAF CITY (NLC) (Not suitable for the young aged 18 and below)

It's hard to describe what kind of concept NLC is. They have weird ancient totems and egyptian statues in the middle of the city which looks like its been built in 2109. OH YA did you guys spot at the very far right, THE EIFFEL TOWER? Can i make myself any clearer? I'll illustrate to you further with some SSes. Now because of one of our guild members, it is felt that NLC is not suitable for the young. HAHA Can you imagine that when SHE first saw the NLC banner, the water that she was drinking came out of her nose? ( i might have tweaked the story a little bit.)
So anyway that sparked alot of attention and what became a simple exploration of a new map, became a search expedition!!! I'm happy to admit that i took awhile, even though i was standing in front of it, to realise what she was talking about.

So i'll leave you here with some Screen Shots i took, these are just some highlights. Be sure to visit NLC! And let your imagination run wildddddd. =)

First time MY bossing

Call me sua ku if you want, but yesterday was my first time going to malaysia map.
Following a group of my regular party members for zakum, we went malaysia bossing.

Fighting the Lion was fairly easy. You just need a warrior to rush it and pin it to the side, and keep hitting it. Depending on how many attackers you have, the session can last from 30 to 45 mins to clear all 3 bodies. As long as you do not touch the body, there is no danger of dying, if you keep potting.

Fighting the Bear..... is a similar process, but a different story! You still need a warrior to rush it to pin it to the side, and as suggested by Sinderella, it will be best if you can make it face the other direction. (i.e. getting the warrior with higher HP to make the Bear target him, and hence facing him, while the rest of the attackers with lower HP stand behind the bear, so that the bear's attack will not be aimed at them.) The rumoured needed HP to fight the bear is 7.7k HP. But I died 3 times while fighting it.... even though I had 7.9k HP. The only reason I can think of... is that it deals a higher damage with it's laser attack!

Guild Insanity Alliance

Guild Insanity is not yet allied with any guilds. We have decided against doing so because we do not what too much conversations to flood our chat windows. We have decided that, within the guild, we are already chatty enough.

But then again, with that being said, problems facing us is that we have reached 100 slots. Hope that MapleSEA is able to expand guild slots to 200, like MapleStory in other regions.

In the meantime, we have a pending decision to ally Mystique, which is a guild inactive. The intention is to treat Mystique like an extension of Insanity.... which I thought won't be too fair for Mystique, and therefore actions have not been taken yet.

Wahhaha… I am so busy lately to provide updates of any sort. So I think I will just do a consolidate update here:

Yeah, we are finally fully “staffed”. Well, there are about 20% subchars in the guild for whatever reasons, but we still have a considerable number of unique players. Anyway, if you want to join us, dun be shy to apply! I am sure we can arrange for something.

Guild Outing:

 

Evilaunti held a chalet on Monday (9 Mar 09)… some people went, some people didn’t… I don’t wanna say who…. Hahaha…. Might be having another guild outing soon! Any ideas?

 

Guild Zakum:

 

Not happening yet as we are still not strong enough. Unless our guild members are willing to pay mesos when we might engage helpers. Anyway, we will work towards a full guild zak by August!

Mass recruitment yesterday

Daniugomoo2 (Guild Insanity's JR) did a recruitment yesterday. Thanks to all who responded to the mega, we are sorry we were not able to attend to all as the response was overwhelming, and MapleStory is very lag.

We are currently 9x/100. =)

Hope MapleSEA decides to let us expand our guild slots to 200 soon.

I hope MapleStory can let my Guild have 200 slots

=) I think other servers overseas do allow the guild to be expanded to 200 slots so why not MapleSEA? Guild - Insanity definitely has the capability to grow to that. =)

Our strength is currently at 8x/100 now, with a good mix of genders and classes. We are still recruiting willing members playing in MapleSEA. Our Guild members are friendly and helpful, so you will not feel left out.

There are no minimum requirements to join Guild - Insanity, but you must like playing MapleStory, and of cos must be in MapleSEA Cassiopeia server. If your lvl is high, it will be a bonus for us, because we are aiming to have Guild Zakums eventually.

Recruitment can be done in game, or, since you are already here, just fill up the sign up form found on the right hand side of this blog and I will get in touch with you ASAP. =)

MapleSEA is patching Maple with verion 0.67 at this very moment. It started from 0800 hrs and supposedly will end at 1300 hrs.

Things to look out for (I only copied those of interest):

Unravel the mystery of Alchemy as you explore Magatia town located in the Nihal Dessert.

(New Training place! woohoo~ I wonder if the mobs are noob mobs or high level mobs?)

New Horned Tail Conditions implement!
1) User will now require a Horned Tail Ticket that is necessary to be in the inventory during the boss fight. Otherwise, user will be disconnected.
2) Throughout the horntail duration, only the 30 characters that are registered in the Horntail Squad List can remain in the 3 maps. Any other characters that are in the maps but not registered in the list will be disconnected immediately.

(Preventing hackers eh~)

Well.... since we are rather noobs in OPQ, with me never finished ONCE b4 in my lifetime, we decided to do it together... with all guildmates and friends...

But we were a little short handed actually... so we still added 2 Strangers...

Guildmates present:

KnuckleStorm
NuahGouGou (PT leader, and highest level, and most experienced, with purple alluring eyes that matches her hat)
Tukisiro (Pardon me if I never spell you ign hoh... msg me and I will correct it later)
StarLightMe (who seems more experienced than I thought! wahhaa)

Strangers added:

a lvl 6x Pirate (don't want to mention ign cos he quit pt halfway... guess we are too noob for him)
a lvl 51 Sin (don't want to mention ign cos he quit pt halfway... guess we are too noob for him, we added him after the pirate quitted on us)
a spearwoman called ZhuZhu something (she was quite patient with us and accompanied us to the end... though I wasn't really around much)

....

Well... the thing is... I died after knocking into some lucidas... and was OHKOed... Oh well... back to 0% again... >.<
